The Château La Barotte in Gironde (33) invites you to discover its vineyards.

To the est of the Dordogne and of the Gironde stretches a fertile valleys region, interrupted with hillsides (Blayais, Bourgeais, Libournais, Fronsadais et Cubzaguais).

Located in a clayed and siliceous-chalky plateaus, the Cubzaguais has homogeneous grounds and subsoil made up of ferruginous sand, limestone, clay and silicious limestone.

Our vineyard consists of 34 ha of production, spreads out both communes of Saint André de Cubzac and Lalande de Fronsac. Vineyards are around 20 years old.

Vine is typically from Bordeaux and it is made up of four different types :

The grape picking are mechanically made when grapes have reached an optimum maturity. The current production is around 1800 hectolitres. 20 % of the production are bottled, which represents 25000 bottles. What is left of the production is sold in bulk to privates but also to professionnals.

Alf-way between the North Pole and the equator, the climate of Gironde has ocean features and benefits from the "Gulf-stream" (a sea current) which reduces temperatures excess (in summer as well as in winter).

Under the 45th line, Saint André de Cubzac has a moderate climate with rains which spread over the four seasons although the most importants are in autumn and in winter.

In autumn and in winter, fogs which are rather frequent, start at night and have difficulty clearing in the valleys of Garonne and Dordogne. Sunshine exceeds the most often 2000 hours yearly.

The Château La Barotte is located in the commune of Saint André de Cubzac, 25 km away from Bordeaux, 20 km away from Libourne and 30km away from Blaye.

Thanks to its location, our commune benefits from a considerable tourist traffic near the motorway A10, near the A Road 10 and near the A Road 137.
